Earlier this month, the Long Beach Police Department’s Youth Services Division conducted a Tobacco Decoy Program as part of ongoing efforts to educate and support merchants who resist the sales of tobacco products to minors.
The operation targeted a total of 20 businesses, with 15 of them in compliance by refusing to sell tobacco to a minor, and five who did sell tobacco to the minor decoy and were cited.
The Long Beach Police Department would like to thank all merchants in our city who remain in compliance by not selling tobacco products to minors. Their continued support and effort to maintain the quality of health for our youth is commendable.
