Make a Difference in Your Community; Volunteer Opportunities at Rancho Los Cerritos for Teens & Adults
2013-09-30 · By Editor
Teens Can Make a Difference. Teens can give back to their community, explore career options, meet other teens, and build a stronger resume for college or that first job while volunteering at Rancho Los Cerritos!
At Rancho Los Cerritos, teens are encouraged to volunteer up to 10 hours per month over the course of the school year. Depending on the volunteer’s availability and area(s) of interest, high school students can volunteer once a week to help lead house tours, staff the visitor center, and do special projects; or they can come once a month to assist with “Creation Station” children’s crafts and activities; or they can help several times a year with major public festivals and events. There are many options!
For more information, join us for one of two Teen Open Houses: Friday, Sept. 27, 4-5:30pm Thursday, Oct. 10, 4-5:30pm Please call to reserve a space (562) 570-1324.
Discover, Inspire and Volunteer as a House Docent at the Rancho!
Adults too can get involved in the community, learn about local history, meet new friends, and enhance their public speaking skills as a member of Rancho Los Cerritos’ upcoming docent-training class. History enthusiasts will learn about the Rancho and early California history, then give tours one afternoon per month to visitors from near and far.
Training for house docents (tour guides) begins Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and continues for eight weeks; there is no charge.
