long beach street repair projectDue to adverse weather conditions, this weekend’s planned closure of eastbound Ocean Boulevard between the Gerald Desmond Bridge and downtown Long Beach has been postponed.

The first phase of the road-repaving project has been rescheduled for December 14-17. The closure will be the first of three weekend closures that will continue December 21-24 and December 28-31 as crews complete the pavement improvement project from the foot of the Desmond Bridge to the L.A. River west of downtown Long Beach. To download a map of the project area, click here.

The Port of Long Beach is committed to keeping Harbor District roadways maintained in good condition and to minimizing the impacts of construction on motorists and businesses.

The weekend closures were selected to reduce the impact on commuter traffic. Work will generally start Fridays at 10 p.m. and finish by 5 a.m. Mondays. Throughout the closures, signs will guide motorists to detours.
