Organizers at Westerly School have a big finish line to cross for their annual auction this year. Using a speedway theme for the event, volunteers hope to stay on-track and raise $290,000 through ticket sales and auction items.
“A Night at the Westerly Speedway,” takes place Saturday, May 15 with dinner, dancing and auctions.
Throughout the evening, guests can bid on 300 wonderful items in a silent auction. Later a live auction will take place with 25 amazing items that includes tickets to the “American Idol” season finale on May 26 and tickets to the USC vs. Notre Dame game on November 27. More than 200 auction items are already available for browsing online at westerlyschool.maestroweb.com.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the students of Westerly School.
Westerly School’s annual auction, A Night at the Westerly Speedway, puts the pedal to metal at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at the Westin Long Beach, 333 E. Ocean Blvd. Tickets are $175 and can be purchased online or by calling 981-3151.
