Westerly School to Host “High School Decision 2013” October 25

High School Decision 2013Westerly School, Long Beach’s premiere independent school, is please to invite middle grade students and their families to attend “High School Decision 2013” on Thursday, October 25th. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature more than 20 representatives from public and independent high schools in Southern California and beyond. “High School Decision 2013” will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the school’s quad area. “Westerly School has the distinction of being the only school in Southern California to host an educational event that provides a comprehensive presentation of high school options for families who live in Long Beach, Los Angeles and Orange County,” said Head of School Chris Rodenhizer. “Last year’s event was a success and we look forward to continuing that tradition.”

Westerly School created “High School Decision 2013” to provide middle school students and their families a unique opportunity to meet with public and independent high school educators and learn about their programs. There will be short presentations by high school representatives and an opportunity for families to ask questions and gather information. Westerly’s eighth grade students play a critical role in setting up and hosting the event.

“High School Decision 2013” will feature representatives public schools, such as Wilson High School Distinguished Scholars, as well as independent and charter high schools, including Chadwick School (Palos Verdes Peninsula), Loyola High School (Los Angeles), Fairmont Preparatory Academy (Anaheim), Cornelia Connelly School (Anaheim), Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana), Lutheran High School of Orange County (Orange), Rolling Hills Preparatory School (San Pedro), Servite High School (Anaheim), Saint Anthony High School (Long Beach), Sage Hill High School (Newport Coast), Vistamar High School (El Segundo), Saint Joseph High School (Lakewood), Tarbut V’Torah School (Irvine), Rosary High School (Fullerton), St. John Bosco High School (Bellflower), McBride High School (Long Beach), Halstrom High School (Anaheim Hills), Santa Catalina School (Monterey) and Brethren Christian High School (Huntington Beach).
