2012-10-31 · By Editor
Councilmember James Johnson, the Port of Long Beach and the Arts Council for Long Beach invite residents to celebrate the grand opening of the first 4 acres of Willow Springs Park on Thursday November 1, 2012. The grand opening celebration will include a free jazz concert. Bring your picnic basket, lawn chair, and blanket and enjoy the concert and panoramic views as we celebrate the grand opening of the largest park in Long Beach since 1952. All ages are welcome.
Not only will visitors enjoy jazz under the moonlight, but attendees also get to admire the beautiful public art work created by local Long Beach artist, Steve Elicker. He has created an areal view of the California coast line made out of decomposed granite. An up close and personal description of the public art and the park will be presented at the opening.
The grand opening celebration of Willow Springs Park is Thursday November 1, 2012 from 6pm-9pm at Willow Springs Park 2745 Orange Ave., Long Beach, CA 90806. Additional Parking: Along 28th Street and off Orange Avenue (not on Orange Avenue)
This event brought to you by Councilmember James Johnson’s Office is sponsored by the Port of Long Beach and the Arts Council for Long Beach.
