St. Mary and the American Cancer Society Hosts Women’s Health Conference with Lesbian Health Focus

St. Mary Medical Center and the American Cancer Society Long Beach Chapter presents the 4th Annual Women’s Health Forum with a focus on lesbian health and cancer issues.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, June 12 on the hospital campus in the Health Enhancement Center at 1055 Linden Avenue.
“The lesbian community needs a safe place to discuss issues important,” said Lucille Sevigny, RN, moderator of the event. “The forum will be packed with useful tips, resources and information from area experts.”
Guest speakers include Dr. Becky Kuhn, Dr. Carrie Rickard, and Dr. Bertha Alarcon. Topics to be discussed will include sexual health, education on menopause and various cancers including oral, breast, and cervical.
The 4th Annual Women’s Health Forum will also include a health fair with glucose and cholesterol screenings and blood pressure checks. Low cost screening referrals for mammograms and pap smears will be available too.
A free continental breakfast will be served.
