working with a literary agentThe California Writers Club of Long Beach will host literary agent Denise Dumars in a presentation called “Working with a Literary Agent on Tuesday, 4 May, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Los Altos Branch of the Long Beach Public Library, 5614 Britton Drive. Published and aspiring writers of all genres are welcome to attend.

Denise is a literary agent for the Ashley Grayson Literary Agency. She is also the author of Be Blesséd: Daily Devotions for Busy Wiccans and Pagans (New Page), and is co-author of The Dark Archetype: Exploring the Shadow Side of the Divine, (New Page). She has published hundreds of poems, short stories, reviews, articles, and a book-length short fiction collection, Lovecraft Slept Here (Wildside Press).

In addition to being a writer, Denise currently teaches English at Long Beach City College and Los Angeles Harbor College.  Denise has appeared all over the Southwest signing books, holding classes, meditations, readings, and other events. She has appeared on television and radio shows in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas markets.

The free monthly meetings of the California Writers Club of Long Beach are held at the Los Altos Branch Library from 6 to 8 pm on the first Tuesday of each month. Meetings are open to the public.
