Wrigley Neighborhood meeting presents Metro Blue Line audit
2010-03-09 · By Editor
Review the findings from the Metro Blue Line Bike and Walk Audits conducted this past December at the upcoming Wrigley Area Neighborhood Alliance meeting.
The neighborhood organization will discuss the bike and walk audit findings from the stations in the Wrigley area on Monday, March 15 at the regular monthly WANA meeting at Veteran’s Park Social Room 101 E. 28th St. Atlantic Avenue.
In 2009, the City of Long Beach awarded funding from Caltrans to develop a Metro Blue Line Bicycle and Pedestrian Access Plan to assess and recommend a plan to improve the streets and adjacent land uses surrounding each Metro Blue Line Station and improve walking and bicycle access to the stations.
This past December, dozens of volunteers helped conduct “Neighborhood Station Access Audits” to assess the existing physical infrastructure and safety conditions in the areas surrounding Long Beach’s Metro stations.
