Rafer Johnson will be the Keynote Speaker at the 42nd Annual YMCA Good Friday Breakfast on Friday, April 2
Rafer Johnson is arguably one of America’s greatest and most decorated athletes—an Olympic Gold Medalist, Sports Illustrated Athlete of the Year, Sullivan Award for Outstanding Amateur Athlete, Torch Lighter of the 1984 Olympic Games, and Co-Founder of California Special Olympics. Committed to the development of youth, Rafer has dedicated his life to serving his community. He is a man of principle, strength, and direction, guided by a strong Christian faith.
The annual Good Friday Breakfast will include a performance by the Long Beach Polytechnic High School Gospel Choir and additional presentations by Long Beach notables including:
- Mayor Bob Foster – City of Long Beach
- Beverly O’Neill – Former Mayor, City of Long Beach
- Arline Walter – Member, YMCA Board of Directors
- Mike Walter – Executive Assistant to the President, CSULB
- Alan Hostrup – President & CEO, YMCA of Greater Long Beach
Seats must be reserved for the YMCA Good Friday Breakfast. Individual tickets are $40. Tables of 10 may be reserved for $500, which includes program recognition and priority seating. Reservations are held at the door. Individual tickets will not be mailed. Register online at www.lbymca.org.
