Joy Zedler Marsh Clean-Up at Los Cerritos Wetlands
2010-09-17 · By Editor
The Los Cerritos Wetlands Authority (LCWA), is proud to announce the 5th Annual Joy Zedler Marsh Clean-Up at Los Cerritos Wetlands on California Coastal Clean-Up Day, Saturday September 25th, 2010. Last year over 100 volunteers collected 475 lbs of trash and debris from the wetlands. This year we need your help again.
The LCWA owns 66 acres of Los Cerritos Wetlands and we welcome the public to join us for an afternoon of wetlands adventure, education, and stewardship. This is the perfect opportunity to make a difference and earn service-learning credits. All participants should wear closed-toed shoes and protect themselves appropriately from the sun. All other tools and materials will be provided. This is a water bottle free event, so please bring a reusable container. Space is limited, so please RSVP to reserve a spot by contacting the program coordinator Eric Zahn at Eric@tidalinfluence.com. Directions to the parking for the event will be given upon RSVP.
HUGE thanks to our program partners: Tidal Influence, Los Cerritos Wetlands Stewards, Los Cerritos Wetlands Land Trust, Aquarium of the Pacific, Rivers and Mountains Conservancy, Save Our Beach, El Dorado Audubon, and Signal Hill Petroleum.
This event is made possible through funding from the Southern California Wetlands Recovery Project, US Fish and Wildlife Coastal Program and the California Coastal Commission WhaleTail Grant Program
